Five years ago, Breanna Doll and Anna Walsh took something of a risk in opening Anna Be˜, their bridal shop in the Highland neighborhood. Sure, there were people shopping at boutiques nearby and going to restaurants, but there was no place selling designer wedding gowns. They’ve built a business and are celebrating their success with a party Nov. 10 at Mile High Station. Rather than showing gowns, however, they’re encouraging guests to wear their wedding dresses — or something white or 1920s-inspired — to the event planned by Calluna Events that will feature a variety of wedding professionals. The evening’s ticket price will be donated to the Greenhouse Scholars program, which helps high-performing, underfinanced college students.
