Denver’s 2011 Veterans Day Parade will start at 10 a.m. today downtown. The parade, sponsored by United Launch Alliance, will honor veterans and first responders and pay special tribute to Sept. 11.
Nearly 100 groups are scheduled to participate, and the parade will feature World Trade Center steel, military units, vintage cars, horses and a band. The parade will be followed at 11:30 a.m. by the Fallen Heroes Honor Roll Reading, during which there will be a reading of names of Coloradans who have given their lives for their country.
Occupy Denver, which has been spending nights in Civic Center, announced it would temporarily move its camp to Skyline Park starting Friday night to salute the veterans and show its respect for the parade. The Denver Post
