SUPERIOR, Colo.—A Superior trustee who has been hired to evaluate a waste-food recovery program is facing questions over ethics.

Lisa Skumatz sent a letter to her colleagues notifying them that garbage disposal manufacturer Insinkerator had hired her firm, the Econservation Institute, to evaluate food-waste programs like the one in Superior.

Trustee Chris Hanson tells the Boulder Daily Camera ( ) the board has a duty to investigate conflict-of-interest issues and the board has not done so.

Skumatz says she makes no profit from the arrangement and it benefits the town at no extra cost.
