PUEBLO, Colo.—Pueblo County sheriff’s officials have arrested a former deputy on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a child and second-degree introduction of contraband into the county jail.
Fifty-year-old Raymond Gonzales was arrested Friday.
Authorities say an investigation into Gonzales was launched after a sergeant working in the jail on Oct. 5 found a thumb drive allegedly belonging to Gonzales that contained child pornography, which is considered contraband in a jail.
Gonzales was employed by the sheriff’s office from 2007 until this past Tuesday.
