DENVER—A pedestrian who was struck by the front of a light rail train near the Colorado Convention Center in Denver has been taken to a hospital.

The person’s condition wasn’t immediately known.

The Regional Transportation District says the train was heading north from Speer Boulevard to the center Friday afternoon. What led to the accident is still under investigation.

Light rail service at the convention center has been temporarily shut down.

The convention center was hosting the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo on Friday.
