Less than 24 hours after claiming a share of the Mountain West regular-season volleyball title with a win on Friday, 24th-ranked Colorado State won the conference outright, thanks to a TCU loss Saturday.

The league crown is the Rams’ third consecutive and ninth in the league’s 13-year history. With the regular-season title, CSU will take the No. 1 seed into the Mountain West tournament, Nov. 18-20 in Albuquerque. Winless Air Force is guaranteed the No. 8 seed, and will be CSU’s first opponent in the tournament.

• The University of Colorado volleyball team fell to seventh-ranked California, 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 25-20) in Boulder.

The Buffs were led by Kerra Schroeder’s 16 kills.

CU fell to 5-20 overall, 0-17 in the Pac-12, while Cal improved to 23-4, 13-4.

Falcons complete sweep; Tigers earn split.

The Air Force hockey team swept its two-game series against Sacred Heart with a 3-2 victory. Jason Fabian, John Kruse and Scott Mathis each scored, and goalie Stephen Caple made 28 saves in the Falcons’ win. Air Force outshot Sacred Heart 42-30 to improve to 5-2-2, 4-0-1 in the Atlantic Hockey Association.

• Colorado College (5-1-0, 3-1-0) got three power- play goals and two empty-net goals to beat Nebraska-Omaha (5-5-0, 4-2-0) 5-2 and earn a split in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association series. Goalie Josh Thorimbert made 45 saves for the Tigers.
