DENVER—Police were searching for a suspect who they say resisted arrest and left an officer with a broken hand.
Police identify the suspect as 32-year-old Peter Edward VanVolkinburg, who fled with a handcuff on his right wrist. An officer stopped VanVolkinburg Monday morning for investigation of a hit and run. A struggle ensued during the officer’s attempt to arrest VanVolkinburg.
Police say VanVolkinburg is now wanted on an arrest warrant for felony second-degree assault to a police officer.
