CH2M Hill Polar Services has been awarded an eight-year, $325 million contract from the National Science Foundation to provide support services for Arctic research projects.
The Douglas County-based engineering firm will provide transportation, logistic, communications, construction and field safety services for the approximately 176 science projects and 1,000 scientists the NSF annually puts into research sites in Alaska, Greenland, Canada, Russia, Iceland, Norway, the Arctic Ocean and the North Pole.
