LAS CRUCES, N.M.—U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working the international crossing in El Paso, Texas, arrested a man wanted on an outstanding homicide warrant from Colorado.

The Las Cruces Sun-News reports 21-year-old Roy Pena of Denver entered the U.S. from Mexico Saturday as a pedestrian.

However, Border Patrol officers conducting the inspection found a warrant charging Pena with homicide had been issued Friday in Adams County, Colo.

Pena was turned over to the El Paso Police Department and booked into jail where he was being held without bond.
