Thomas Hoang had a goal and an assist to lead the Fort Lewis men’s soccer team, ranked No. 3 in Division II, to a 3-0 win Thursday over No. 19 Metro State in an NCAA Tournament first-round game in Durango.

Goalkeeper Ryan Wirth recorded his 12th shutout of the season for the Skyhawks (20-1-0). Cory Dean got the Skyhawks on the scoreboard in the 18th minute, collecting a pass from Hoang and firing a low shot past Roadrunners (14-7-1) keeper Shailer Thomas. Hoang added an insurance goal in the 57th minute, fighting through the defense for a one-on-one chance against Thomas.

The Colorado State volleyball team saw its seven-match win streak come to an end as host TCU (22-5, 9-4 Mountain West) beat the Rams (18-5, 11-2) 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 20-25, 15-11).

Garrett Getschow and Kevin Durr scored to give Air Force a 2-0 win over host Denver in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation soccer tournament quarterfinal.
