A small plane crashed near Alamosa this afternoon, killing at least one person, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

No names have been been released, nor has the cause and other details about the crash in southern Colorado.

The Cessna 337 crashed about 4:30 p.m. two miles south of Alamosa, FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer said in an e-mail.

“According to the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Department, at least one person was fatally injured, he wrote at about 10:30 p.m. “This is all of the information we have at this time.

The Valley Courier newspaper in Alamosa reported the plane was traveling from San Luis Valley Regional Airport-Bergman Field in Alamosa to Salida, a distance of about 80 miles.
