The child prostitution trial date for the founder of Sunflower Farmers Market has been pushed back to January, The Arizona Republic reported Thursday, citing court documents.
Michael C. Gilliland, 53, was scheduled to go to trial Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court, but Gilliland’s attorney requested an additional 60 days. The new trial date is Jan. 19. Gilliland is charged with one felony count of child prostitution.
Judge Susanna Pineda also granted Gilliland permission to fly to Casablanca, Morocco, on Sunday and return to Phoenix on Dec. 1, according to court documents.
