BOULDER, Colo.—Deputies say they rescued a “half-naked” climber off a landmark rock formation near Boulder and may recommend drug charges if it’s discovered he was high on hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Deputies say they arrested the climber’s friend after finding him in possession of mushrooms.
Boulder County sheriff’s officials did not identify the man or his friend who called for help. Officials say both are 25 and from Missouri. Additional identifying information was not immediately available.
The Daily Camera reports ( ) officials received a report of a man acting strangely and in need of assistance off the First Flatiron southwest of Boulder. Rescuers helped the man off the rock.
Officials are also investigating whether the rescued climber bit a civilian who assisted in the rescue.
