Aviation investigators say the South Dakota-based Air Force pilot killed in the crash of his civilian airplane in Colorado was rated “exceptionally qualified” on his last military flight review.
Twenty-five-year-old Capt. Martin Anthony Riggan and his wife, Nicole, died when the single-engine plane crashed at the Colorado Springs airport in freezing fog on Dec. 22.
The report does not list the cause of the crash. That can take a year.
