For the record: TCU is 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the Mountain West. The 19th-ranked Horned Frogs lead the conference after winning a 36-35 thriller at Boise State. This is their last football season in the Mountain West. They join the Big 12 next summer.

Streaking: Colorado State has lost seven consecutive games to the Horned Frogs. CSU hasn’t beaten TCU since a 42-21 victory in Fort Collins in 1998. TCU leads the series 7-1.

Who’s hot: Sophomore quarterback Casey Pachall completed 24-of-37 passes for 473 yards and five touchdowns against Boise State. Pachall has passed for 2,413 yards and 24 touchdowns this season. He has thrown only six interceptions.

Who’s not: TCU ranks just 75th among 120 major-college teams in pass defense, allowing 234.7 yards per game in the air.

Key stat: The Horned Frogs rank 10th nationally in scoring, averaging 41 points. TCU has been held under 30 points only once.

FYI: TCU has a blossoming star in 6-foot-2, 265-pound sophomore defensive end Stansly Maponga (6 1/2 sacks). . . . The Frogs rank third nationally in kickoff returns, averaging 27.2 yards.
