A member of a metro-area marijuana-growing ring that also included Heaven Dragon restaurant owner Dan Tang was sentenced Monday in federal court.
Ming Yen Deng, whom federal authorities describe in charging documents as a master electrician who set up marijuana-growing operations in houses across the northern metro suburbs, was sentenced to time already served plus a year of supervised release. Deng earlier pleaded guilty to a single count of trying to transport more than $16,000 out of the country without filing the proper paperwork.
