A 36-year-old Florida woman was rescued Sunday night after she fell while hiking with a friend on the Ute Trail near Aspen.
The woman’s friend used a cell phone to call for help around 6:15 p.m.
Rescue crews from Mountain Rescue Aspen, Aspen Ambulance and Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office responded and were able to locate the hiker about 30 minutes later.
The woman, whose name was not released, had to be carried out because she was suffering from hypothermia, authorities said. She was then taken to the hospital.
