LITTLETON, Colo.—Questions are being raised over a $3 million pedestrian bridge that will only serve about 100 people a day in Jefferson County.

According to KUSA-TV ( ), documents show county project engineer Brad Bauer agreed with citizens who called the bridge expensive and unnecessary.

County leaders including Commissioner Faye Griffin, who voted for the project, have admitted it wasn’t a wise use of taxpayer money.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood tells the station the federal government takes seriously the need for projects funded with federal tax dollars.
