LOVELAND, Colo.—Loveland is slashing its contract with the Larimer Humane Society and scaling back animal control services because of budget cuts.
Humane Society spokeswoman Marci Willms says the proposed cuts mean the Humane Society will limit animal-control to five days a week for eight hours a day with one officer. That’s down from the current seven days a week of full service.
According to the Denver Post ( ), the city is trying to close a projected $33 million budget deficit over the next 10 years.
