
J.M. Smucker Co. is recalling thousands of 16-ounce jars of its Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter Chunky because of possible salmonella contamination.
The Ohio-based company says the jars covered in the recall would have been purchased in the past week or so. They have “Best If Used By” dates of Aug. 3, 2012, and Aug. 4, 2012, plus the production codes 1307004 and 1308004. The product was distributed to Colorado and 23 other states.
In another recall, Ready Pac Foods Inc. of Irwindale, Calif., is recalling 5,379 cases of bagged salad containing Romaine lettuce with a use-by date of Nov. 18 because they may be contaminated with E. coli.
Items included in the voluntary recall are Ready Pac Caesar Romaine and Santa Fe Caesar Complete Salad; Ready Pac Bella Romaine; Dining in Classic Caesar Salad Kit; Raley’s Caesar Romaine; Trader Joe’s Romaine Salad and Very American Salad; and Safeway Farms Caesar Romaine, Hearts of Romaine, Complete Caesar Supreme and Complete Southwestern Ranch.
