With the NBA’s Nuggets not playing and the prospects of a season murky at best, the Avalanche will use the available time at the Pepsi Center to practice more there soon.
Starting next week, the Avs will practice with more regularity at the arena, as long as the Nuggets remain locked out. For more than a decade, the Avs have practiced mostly at Family Sports Center in Centennial.
But the Avs feel that being able to practice more at the Pepsi Center would be an advantage for future games. The more a team knows the bounces and other nuances of a home arena, the better for it.
Mueller still skating.
Avalanche left wing Peter Mueller continues to skate daily but is still listed on the injured-reserve list.
With the return of Brandon Yip to the lineup, the Avs placed Mueller on the IR. There is no official prognosis on a return, as Mueller continues to recuperate from postconcussion symptoms.
