The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office arrested three suspects this morning in connection with the attempted murder of a 57-year-old man Friday night at 1072 Maxwell St. in Colorado Springs.
Brelyson Kerley, 31, and Kevin Jenkins, 28, were both in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center tonight on $10,000 bond, facing charges of being accessories to a criminal murder attempt.
The third suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, is a juvenile. He is being detained at the Spring Creek Detention Center on $25,000 bond facing two criminal chargesone for an attempt to commit first degree murder and one charge for first degree assault.
The suspects were apprehended after police recognized a car matching the suspect’s description parked along the side of the road near Burnham Street.
After obtaining a search warrant, members of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team raided a house at 1225 Burnham Street at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Investigation of the attempted murder is ongoing.
The victim’s name has not yet been released, but he was transferred to an area hospital with multiple stab wounds last night where he underwent surgery for life-threatening injuries, according to an El Paso County Sheriff’s Department press release.
