COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—While some Colorado ski resorts have pushed up their opening days because of early season snowstorms, at least two are holding off because of a lack of snow.

Snowmass, Winter Park and Wolf Creek are among resorts that opened earlier than expected this year after they got hit with snow. The story has been different for two central Colorado resorts.

Monarch Mountain marketing manager Greg Ralph tells The Gazette ( ) it doesn’t look like the resort near Salida will be able to open as initially planned Wednesday.

Ski Cooper in Leadville had planned to open on Thanksgiving. Managers now say they hope to be open the weekend of Dec. 2, weather permitting.
