FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Roberto Colonette made a rebound basket with 4 seconds left as Manhattan defeated Fresno State 85-83 on Monday night in the consolation bracket of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

After Michael Alvarado missed a layup, Colonette outmuscled two Fresno State defenders and put the ball right back up for the victory. Fresno State failed to get off a final shot.

Donovan Kates led the Jaspers (3-1) with 14 points. George Beamon, Alvarado and Colonette scored 13 each.

The Jaspers shot 54 percent in the second half.

Kevin Olekaibe scored 22 of his 25 points in the second half for the Bulldogs (2-2). He made two four-points plays in the final 1:24. Kevin Foster and Garrett Johnson added 10 points each.

Manhattan took its first lead, 46-45, since early in the game on a dunk by Rhamel Brown 6 minutes into the second half.

Two free throws by Alvarado put the Jaspers ahead 75-62 with 2:46 remaining.

But Fresno State began to cut into the lead. Olekaibe brought the Bulldogs within 79-78 with a 3-pointer and free throw with 1:36 left.

Colonette appeared to seal the game for Manhattan with two free throws that made it 83-79, but Olekaibe made a 3-pointer while falling down and a free throw to tie it at 83 with 12 seconds left.

The Bulldogs led 37-33 at halftime despite getting only three points in 10 minutes from the foul-plagued Olekaibe.
