On Oct. 21, Regis University gave $69,000 in scholarship awards to 18 students for successful academic achievement. The students celebrated with friends and family in a ceremony on the main campus in north Denver.
“Each year, we are pleased to award several scholarships to exceptional community college students transferring from a two-year program to a Bachelor’s degree program at Regis,” said Deborah Lloyd, associate director of Marketing and New Student Enrollment at Regis University College for Professional Studies.
This year, the Community College Scholarships were awarded to: Zona Thompson, College of Southern Nevada; Tatiani Koenkel, Colorado Mountain College; Paul Menard, Community College of Aurora; Peggy Abdow, Front Range Community College; Melissa Beaty, Pikes Peak Community College; Dana Johnson, Red Rocks Community College; and Becky Figgins, Western Wyoming Community College.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships were presented to: Megan Rossi, Colorado Mountain College; Joshua Harges and Carol Holden, Community College of Aurora; David Holzrichter, Laura Huber, and Sevanna Rodriguez, Front Range Community College; and Jessica Boller, Dina Louttit, Stephanie Pina, and Shauna Zsteffoni, Red Rocks Community College.
Sondra MacDonald from Pikes Peak Community College received the Vice President’s Community College Scholarship.
“These students work hard and we want to encourage them any way we can,” Lloyd said.
