COLORADO SPRINGS — An Occupy Colorado Springs protester was arrested Monday afternoon when he and others followed police orders to remove tables from Acacia Park.

The tables violate a city ordinance, police said. Protesters moved the tables about a block south to the front of City Hall. When they were told to move the tables again, they moved them a few feet to a grassy area.

Nicholas Galetka, 23, said he owned the tables and was taken into custody on a permit violation, police said. He has been arrested several times in El Paso County, records show, including for drug, menacing and burglary charges.

In Boulder early Monday, police ticketed a group of people camping out along the Pearl Street Mall as part of Occupy Boulder. According to a police spokeswoman, officers issued a total of 11 tickets on charges that include camping, public urination and an “animal violation.”
