Businesses along West Colfax spoke loud and clear in support of the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District on Nov. 1.
In a special election that day, businesses along the proposed district area between Depew and Welch Streets on West Colfax Avenue — who were the only voters — approved a property tax assessment with 77 percent of the vote.
“It’s at tribute to property and business owners in the district to work together and take more direct control of the district,” said Bill Marino, executive director of the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District.
