A child was injured in a house fire in Deer Trail on Monday night.
The fire broke out at about 10:40 p.m. in the 300 block of North 5th Avenue, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
People inside the mobile home escaped the fire, but an 8-year-old boy was injured and was taken to a local hospital. Further details on the injuries were not available.
The mobile home was destroyed and three cars parked nearby were damaged.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, but preliminary information leads to faulty furnace wiring.
