FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Larimer County Republican Party will pay a campaign finance fine of $18,207 in installments during the next year.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports Thursday ( ) that the party made a payment of $10,000 this month and said in a letter it would pay the rest of the fine in installments. The fine came after county Republicans failed to file required campaign finance reports in 2010.

County Republicans claim they were victims of criminal wrongdoing by their former Chairman Larry Carrillo. He is suspected of stealing party money to gamble. He faces a theft charge and is due in court Dec. 5.
