A tow-truck operator was killed Friday afternoon in Commerce City when a semi rolled off his tow wrecker and crushed him.
The accident occurred while the 53-year-old man was unloading the semi at the Volvo of Denver dealership, 7250 E. 56th Ave.
According to a police news release, the man is believed to have been working underneath the truck at the time of the accident and was controlling the wrecker operations with a remote control when the semi rolled off its support blocks.
The man was employed by Joe’s Towing and Recovery Service.
