Northern Colorado had three players reach double figures in kills, and the Bears swept Portland State, 25-19, 25-13, 25-20, at the Stott Center on Saturday in the Big Sky volleyball championship match.

The Bears (22-8) will represent the Big Sky in the NCAA Tournament. The Vikings finished the season with a 18-13 record.

Big Sky MVP Kelley Arnold led the Bears with 14 kills and hit .458. UNC setter Marissa Hughes was named the tournament MVP.

• The Colorado State volleyball team defeated New Mexico State in four sets (25-23, 24-26, 25-23, 25-23) in the regular-season finale in Fort Collins.

The Rams, who won the Mountain West Tournament last weekend to clinch an NCAA berth, learn their postseason destination at 4 p.m. today.

Abbott finishes fifth in Moscow.

Figure skater Jeremy Abbott of Aspen finished fifth in the men’s free skate at the Rostelecom Cup in Moscow. Colorado Springs resident Brandon Mroz placed ninth.

Cheyenne Mountain High School graduate Rachael Flatt finished ninth in the women’s free skate.

Scott takes sixth in cross country regionals.

Sydney Scott of South High placed sixth in the girls Foot Locker Cross Country Championship Midwest Regional in Kenosha, Wis.
