WIGGINS, Colo.—Brant Rhoades ran for two touchdowns Saturday, and the Burlington Cougars won their second straight Class 1A state championship with a 23-0 victory over the Wiggins Tigers.

Top-seeded Burlington (13-0), which has won 24 straight, took an 8-0 lead on Rhoades’ 1-yard scoring run and Christian Ramos’ 2-point conversion with 1:05 to play in the first quarter.

The Cougars extended their lead in the third when Stetson Corman connected with Coley David on a 74-yard TD pass. Corman’s 2-point run made it 16-0.

Rhoades’ 5-yard TD with 6:07 to play accounted for the final score.

No. 11 Wiggins (9-4), which played stellar defense for most of the first half, never managed to get its offense going.
