CARBONDALE, Colo.—The Carbondale Public Arts Commission says it may have to discontinue its popular public arts program because of budget cuts.

Carbondale’s draft budget for next year includes $6,000 in funding for the arts commission. That’s half of what it got this year.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent (), co-chairmen Mark Harris and Brad Sherman tell the Carbondale Board of Trustees the board will cancel the program unless it gets more money.

The displays downtown include sculptures from local artists and some that are on loan from local and national artists.
