The Denver Energy Challenge and Mile High Business Alliance will host an informational workshop on how to take advantage of free resources that can significantly reduce energy and water use, 8:30 a.m. Wednesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Fluid Meeting Spaces, 501 E. 19th St.

  •  EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit organization dedicated to higher education programs through information technology, has selected 90octane to develop and launch an e-mail marketing program.

  •  Beyond Tech LLC has been selected for the 2011 Best of Denver Award in the computer & computer equipment service & repair” category by the U.S. Commerce Association.

  •  Boulder’s water treatment facilities at Betasso and Boulder Reservoir have earned the Partnership for Safe Water’s Phase III Directors Award, in recognition of their commitment to water quality and consumer safety.

  •  Sears Trostel employees expect 600 handmade cutting boards to sell quickly during the company’s 6th annual Bread N Boards Fundraiser Saturday to benefit the Food Bank for Larimer County. The fundraising event will start 9 a.m. at the Sears Trostel store, 1500 Riverside Ave., in Fort Collins.

  •  PCL Construction has donated $145,000 to help stock food pantries throughout America and purchase much needed food for the holidays as hunger continues to affect our communities.

  •  Gov. John Hickenlooper will be in Colorado Springs Tuesday for the official groundbreaking of Colorado Springs’ first Community Solar Garden. The event will take place at Venetucci Farm, located at 5210 S. U.S. Highway 85 at 10:30 a.m.
