Arapahoe Basin’s ski patrol director Tony Cammarata has been ski patrolling The Legend for 14 seasons. A look at a few of his favorite things:
Favorite runs: The lower 3rd Alley and Willie’s Wide on the East Wall.
Most rewarding part of job: Sharing my love of Arapahoe Basin with our guests. I also love being a part of improving the overall experience for our guests while maintaining that “A-Basin vibe” that so many people love about our ski area.
Best safety tip: Learn the Responsibility Code: People should understand that we try our hardest to provide a safe and fun environment to slide, but they also have to take responsibility for their own actions. They should ask what is open/closed before skiing. They should ski in control; they should know how to use the lifts or ask before they ride. Enforcement of the rules or disciplining people for bad behavior is the least favorite part of our job. Respect for everybody on the mountain is the best policy. We pride ourselves in being friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. We encourage our guests to seek us out if they have any questions about Arapahoe Basin.
