Contrary to popular belief, junior Missy Franklin will swim for Regis Jesuit this season.
When her prep career began, Franklin had originally committed to just two years of the high school scene, after which she planned to prepare for the 2012 Olympics. But in September, Franklin, who thoroughly enjoys swimming for the Raiders, told her teammates and coaches that she wanted to be a part of the team.
Franklin’s obvious commitment to Regis will be limited, but she plans to swim in the dual meet with Cherry Creek, the Continental League meet and the state meet in Fort Collins in February. She was on hand for the Raiders’ practice on Wednesday afternoon and then caught a flight to Atlanta for the USA Swimming national meet, scheduled today through Saturday.
