With 93,717 more rides than its first season, the Denver B-Cycle program will close its second season next week.

The Denver B-Cycle program, which launched March 14 this year, will end at 11 p.m. on Dec. 9, according to a news release.

Beginning at 9 a.m., riders are asked to help peddle more than 500 of the program’s red bikes back to headquarters at 2737 Larimer St., where the bikes will be stored during the winter.

Starting at 5 p.m., riders and officials will celebrate this season during a happy hour at the nearby Meadowlark Bar at 2701 Larimer St. The first 85 riders to arrive with their B-Cycle will receive a free RTD ticket to get home, and anyone who rides one of the bikes to headquarters will get a free beer during happy hour at the Meadowlark.

Last season, there were 102,981 rides on the bikes, totalling 211,111 miles across the city. This season there have been 196,698 rides on the bikes to date.
