COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs has unveiled the five bids it received to take over the city-owned Memorial Hospital.

The Gazette reported Thursday ( ) the proposals include turning the hospital into an independent nonprofit, becoming part of a new University of Colorado Hospital network and forming a partnership with Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Penrose-St. Francis is part of Centura Health.

The other offers are from Denver-based HCA-HealthOne and from Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth has offices in Denver and Kansas. It’s the parent of Exempla Healthcare in Denver.

The bids include upfront lease payments of up to $500 million and various combinations of capital investments and subsequent payments.

A city task force will meet with representatives of the bidders Friday.
