Louisville’s Zayo Group, a national provider of bandwidth infrastructure, has completed its acquisition of 360networks.

The combination of the two companies creates one of the largest bandwidth infrastructure companies in North America with an estimated annual revenue of $393 million. The company’s fiber network now totals more than 44,000 route miles and nearly two million miles of fiber.

“The combination of the two companies’ operations provides us with a platform to greatly expand our market and service coverage,” said Dan Caruso, President and CEO of Zayo Group in a statement released today. “Given both companies’ focus on simple, bandwidth infrastructure services, we anticipate a rapid and smooth integration of the businesses. With the integration of systems and networks already underway, customers can purchase services across our expanded footprint starting today.”

The deal adds 360networks’ 18,500 route miles of fiber to Zayo’s network, interconnecting 73 markets across the central and western United States, including 24 existing Zayo fiber markets. In addition to its intercity network, 360networks operates metro fiber networks across 25 markets. The acquisition also provides Zayo access to a number of new markets including Albuquerque, NM, Bismarck, ND, Des Moines, Iowa, San Diego, San Francisco and Tucson, Ariz.
