A Frisco police officer has been cited for allegedly pushing a person and causing a wrist injury during a spat about noise while he was off duty.

Officer Daniel Sullivan has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of an investigation into an incident that happened on Friday, according to a joint media release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the Frisco Police Department.

Sheriff’s deputies responded about 11 p.m. Friday to a report of a fight at 1530 Lone Pine Circle, the sheriff’s office said.

The incident involved Sullivan contacting a resident about a noise complaint and returning about 10 minutes later to again tell “the residents they were being too loud.

“The second contact turned confrontational, with Sullivan allegedly pushing one of the residents, causing injury to the resident’s wrist,” the release said.

Sullivan, 39, was issued a summons for suspicion of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

“We are working closely with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office on this matter,” Frisco Police Chief Tom Wickman said. “Once we have all the facts, we will determine a course of action.”

Sullivan is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
