GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Social fraternities and sororities are closer to approval at Colorado Mesa University after the student government voted to approve them.

The (Grand Junction) Sentinel reports ( ) that university administrators will seek proposals this year from national Greek organizations to open chapters at the school.

The newspaper says that Colorado Mesa students already started one social fraternity. The Grand Junction colony of the Kappa Sigma fraternity opened two months ago and has 29 pledges who are Colorado Mesa students.
