ASPEN, Colo.—An Oklahoma woman who survived a plane crash near Aspen 34 years ago has donated more than $1 million to her rescuers for a new headquarters and training facility.

The Aspen Times reports that Lynda Cameron of Oklahoma City made the donation to Mountain Rescue Aspen on Nov. 29, the anniversary of her rescue ( ). The exact amount was not announced, but the newspaper reports it was in excess of $1 million.

Cameron’s father, C.B. Cameron, died in the crash of the family’s small private plane, which disappeared in a snowstorm. Lynda Cameron and five others on board survived in the snowy backcountry for two nights before they were rescued.

Lynda Cameron was 15 years old at the time, and was found sitting in the wreckage of the plane.
