LOS ANGELES — California Gov. Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency Saturday in Los Angeles County to provide state and federal assistance to cities affected by the Nov. 30 windstorm.

The announcement comes a day after state officials, led by Mike Dayton, acting director of the California Emergency Management Agency, toured the storm-damaged region.
