Getting your player ready...
Give us this day our daily bread? No kidding. Albert Pujols just landed a 10-year contract with the Los Angeles Angels for a whopping $254 million. As the Montreal Gazette’s Stu Cowan pointed out: “It also works out to $69,589 a day — every day — for the next 10 years.” Meanwhile, oft-injured NBA center Greg Oden got a one-year, $8.9 million deal from the Trail Blazers, meaning he’ll make $134,848 per game — assuming he plays all 66 games. He’ll beat Pujols’ per-game pay — $156,790 — if he misses 10 games or more, which history says is a slam-dunk bet.
