DENVER—The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has apologized to a family for mistakes made during the investigation of a 23-year-old man killed in 1977 in an apparent drug deal gone bad.
The sheriff’s office says both suspects were dead by the time investigators took up the cold case file for the murder of Craig Kadow.
According to the Denver Post ( ), investigators now believe they had enough evidence for a conviction.
Sheriff’s investigator Cheryl Moore flew to Wisconsin and apologized to Kadow’s 92- year-old mother and ex-wife last year and several months ago met with his son, who lives in Littleton, to turn over his ashes.
