An Arapahoe County jury today convicted Steven Wayne Bassett, 28, of the 2010 murder of Michael Andrew Pinkus, the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced today.
Pinkus’ body was found bound and beaten in an Aurora hotel room on Oct. 15, 2010.
Shortly before Pinkus was found dead, his roommate told police that Bassett and another man had broken into their home looking for money and marijuana.
Bassett is set for sentencing Dec. 19.
His co-defendant Maliek Bailey was found guilty of first-degree murder in September and received a life sentence, according to the district attorney’s office.
