It was standing-room only in the Manual High School auditorium when the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, in cooperation with City Year Denver and several other community organizations, hosted “A Conversation with Isabel Wilkerson” on Dec. 8. Wilkerson, a New York Times correspondent and author of “The Warmth of Other Suns,” is the first African American woman to receive a Pulitzer Prize in journalism. Her Denver appearance was part of the Facing History and Ourselves community conversation series sponsored by the Allstate Foundation and included a VIP reception held at the library.
