Anyone who slipped out early from Collectors’ Choice 31 missed out on something big: Hearing Celine Dion, quite possibly the biggest star ever to show up unannounced at a Denver fundraising gala, serenade the Phil and Nancy Anschutz family with “Because You Loved Me.” Dion’s longtime friends, the Anschutzes, were the guests of honor at this black-tie dinner that raised $730,000 for the Denver Art Museum and also included entertainment by John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. As you can imagine, an evening this special doesn’t “just happen,” and Joanne Davidson shares some of the behind-the-scenes scoop in her Seen First blog:
