Anyone who slipped out early from Collectors’ Choice 31 missed out on something big: Hearing Celine Dion, quite possibly the biggest star ever to show up unannounced at a Denver fundraising gala, serenade the Phil and Nancy Anschutz family with “Because You Loved Me.” Dion’s longtime friends, the Anschutzes, were the guests of honor at this black-tie dinner that raised $730,000 for the Denver Art Museum and also included entertainment by John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
