Kathi Williams, a former state legislator and former director of the Colorado Division of Housing, was chosen Wednesday by Adams County commissioners to fill a vacancy on the RTD board.
Williams, who also served on the Regional Transportation District board in the 1980s, was one of six finalists interviewed for the appointment.
She replaces Kenneth Riley, who resigned in October, saying in an e-mail that “significant family medical issues” made it “necessary for me to move outside the state of Colorado.”
At the time, Riley faced allegations that he had misused money from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union to help finance his RTD board campaign.
RTD board members are elected, but when a vacancy arises, the commissioners from the county where the board member was elected appoint a successor.
