GRAND MARAIS, Minn. — A gunman opened fire at a small northern Minnesota courthouse Thursday, wounding the local prosecutor and two other people, authorities said.
A suspect was taken into custody after the shootings about 4 p.m. at the Cook County Courthouse in Grand Marais, near the Canadian border. The only case on Thursday’s court calendar was for Daniel Sidney Schlienz, who was charged with criminal sexual conduct and nonconsensual sex contact. Schlienz’s father said he was told that his son was the shooter.
